Nine suspects have been charged due to the testing of almost 45-hundred sexual assault kits. The Wisconsin Department of Justice reports there are about 35 more which have been referred for charging decisions. Clearing the backlog of sexual assault evidence kits started three years ago. Only 101 kits haven’t been tested or are currently being tested.
