The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado touched down Sunday night on the northeast side of Bone Lake in Polk County. According to the State Emergency Government, homeowners reported damage to 4 homes as well as farm buildings. Governor Tony Evers met with storm victims, county and local officials Monday to discuss recovery efforts. Meanwhile, counties continue to conduct damage assessments & debris removal following powerful storms that produced at least 16 tornadoes & straight-line winds in many counties the weekend before. Significant cleanup efforts continue in Langlade, Polk & Barron Counties.
Meanwhile, Wisconsin Public Service & We Energies thanked their customers for their patience & understanding after severe storms left over 290,000 customers without power for multiple days. They were also thankful for emergency response personnel along with local businesses and residents who provided resources for crews working around the clock to restore power. Nearly 1,000 workers from WPS, We Energies & utility crews from around the Midwest teamed-up to rebuild circuits & remove debris from equipment destroyed by hurricane-force winds & intense lightning. They replaced or repaired more than 900 utility poles, 600 transformers, 125,000 fuses & 925,000 feet of wire, enough to stretch from Green Bay to the Wisconsin/Illinois state line.
