Lakeshore Technical College was selected as a recipient of a MentorLinks: Advancing Technological Education grant funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and awarded by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). The $20,000 grant is to be used to support efforts associated with program development or improvement related to STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) education with an emphasis on professional development. LTC President Dr. Paul Carlsen said in a news release that “This is one of the first, competitive, nationwide grants awarded to LTC in a number of years and we are extremely honored to be one of only 10 colleges in the nation selected for the MentorLinks program.” This grant comes on the tail of LTC opening up a new downtown Manitowoc location in late June.
