On the morning of Friday, July 26th a motorcycle vs. SUV accident resulted in the death of a 35-year-old motorcyclist.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim as Ryan Tadych of Manitowoc.
According to the Sheriff’s Office at approximately 9:53 AM deputies and EMS personnel responded to a SUV vs. motorcycle crash on CTH CR north of Clover View Road within the township of Newton. The preliminary investigation indicates a 38-year-old man from Manitowoc was operating a passenger car southbound on CTH CR. He started slowing/stopping to turn onto Clover View Road. Just behind him was a 17-year-old female from Newton who was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban southbound on CTH CR. When she observed the vehicle stopping in front of her, she took evasive action and proceeded into the northbound lane of CTH CR. She proceeded into the path of a northbound 1994 Honda CBR motorcycle which was being operated by Ryan Tadych. Following the collision, Tadych was ejected from the motorcycle. He was transported by ambulance to Holy Family Memorial Medical Center and then airlifted by ThedaStar to ThedaCare Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Ryan was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The 17-year-old female was also transported by ambulance to Holy Family Memorial Medical Center for possible injuries. The 38-year-old operator of the non-contact passenger car was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol and Manitowoc County Coroner’s Office.

In a press release, Sheriff Dan Hartwig stated that this accident is the “11th fatal crash in Manitowoc County in 2019. The Sheriff’s Office and Manitowoc County Traffic Safety Commission would like to remind motorists to operate at safe speeds, wear seatbelts and avoid distracted driving.”
