The City of Sheboygan recently appeared on a list of “21 of America’s Most Unique Art Towns” on Cube Smart’s blog. Lily Rogers, author of the blog says that the list is meant to “celebrate the underrated places and artists that well deserve to be appreciated in our time.” Sheboygan’s Mayor Mike Vandersteen stated that “Over the past few years the City of Sheboygan has worked hard on improving the quality of life,” which includes adding art around the city. Several investments that were made include building the first of its kind 39-acre Art Preserve, a $40 million project, to curate, preserve and display artist-built environments which are being built by the John Michael Kohler Arts Center. Sheboygan is #7 on the list of 21 communities for “Americas Most Unique Art Towns” and is the only Wisconsin city to make the list. The full list can be found HERE
