The Manitowoc County Fair is about three weeks away, and the 2019 Manitowoc County Fairest of the Fair Marlee Meulemans, along with Janelle Shelton are hard at work promoting the event. Marlee is not just the face of the fair, she is actually participating in one of the events and has recently said that she is getting a pig all fattened up in preparation for the fair. Marlee started showing pigs when she was in 3rd grade and will be showing and selling her hog on Thursday, August 22nd at the fair during the Market Animal Show.
Shelton said that it is a very large show, with hogs and beef up for sale. She also praised the exhibitors for all the work they do the week leading up to the show, as well as the local business that help ensure the show goes on.
The fair is scheduled to take place August 21st through the 25th at the Manitowoc County Expo Grounds in Manitowoc. The theme this year is “160 Years of Harvesting Memories”.
