
A 54-year-old Green Bay woman has been arrested after she struck a pedestrian and fled the scene last week. Janet Thelen-Hamberger is facing a single charge of Hit and Run Causing Great Bodily Harm. The police didn’t have to do much in the way of searching for her, as she turned herself in after seeing a report of the incident on TV. Thelen-Hamberger admitted to police that she was on her way home from a night out last Wednesday, and had had a few drinks, but “didn’t think she was intoxicated.” When she attempted to turn onto Roosevelt Street from West Mason Street and struck an unnamed 49-year-old Green Bay man, who was crossing the street. Thelen-Hamberger did check on the man, before fleeing the scene. When asked why she didn’t call the police, she said she didn’t really have a good answer.
