A 20-year-old Manitowoc man was taken into police custody this morning following a short foot chase. An officer was patrolling near UW Green Bay, Manitowoc Campus when he saw a group of six people huddled around a black backpack. When the group noticed the officer, they disbanded and took off into the woods. The officer was able to get one man to stop and asked him what they were doing. The man initially would not give the officer any information, but eventually admitted to having what are referred to as “dabs” in his backpack. “Dabs” are a type of marijuana with a high THC content. The man was on probation on a previous marijuana charge, so the officer began to pat him down., The officer found a butterfly knife and brass knuckles on his person as well.
