
Another child has died in Manitowoc County, and maltreatment is again suspected. The death occurred at an unidentified local business on July 19th, but details of the incident are not being released at this time. The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families is claiming that maltreatment is suspected, but Manitowoc Deputy Police Chief Jason Frieboth did not confirm that claim.
There have been a total of six children that have died in Manitowoc County in the past year and a half, including two in Two Rivers. The first death was in January 2018, when Matthew Brown-Edwards was arrested following the death of a 2-month-old baby in Two Rivers. Gilbert Grant II was also killed in Two Rivers back in April, resulting in the arrest of three people. 7-year-old Ethan Hauschultz of Newton died in April of last year after suffering severe Hypothermia and blunt force injuries, also resulting in three arrests, and a 3-year-old child died in Manitowoc a year ago this month resulting in two arrests. And most recently in the City of Kiel, Mason Lesczykowski was found dead along with his 50-year-old grandmother and another 69-year-old man back in May.
