The public is invited to join several local and state dignitaries along with community leaders and participate in a Two Rivers “Main Street” celebration tomorrow. The event scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. will feature a groundbreaking for Cobblestone and Suites, a 55 room four-story hotel located near the waterfront on the 1500 block of Jefferson Street on the former Suettinger Hardware property. Festivities will also include a ribbon-cutting for Scream N’ Conuts, an ice cream shop located near the corner of 12th and Washington that was opened recently by 17-year-old entrepreneur Emilee Rysticken. Two Rivers has been a Wisconsin “Main Street” Community since 1996 and has been one of six selected this year to highlight the downtown’s importance in their communities, overall economy and celebrate the success of Wisconsin’s Commercial business districts. Those scheduled to speak include Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes, City Manager Greg Buckley, Two Rivers Main Street Executive Director Roger Russove, Emilee Rysticken, and Two Rivers Hotel Group Head Rick Carey.
