UW Grad Convicted Of Murder Dodges The Death Penalty In Illinois

It only took an Illinois jury 90 minutes to convict a former student at the University of Wisconsin of murder, but they couldn’t agree on the death penalty for 30-year-old Brendt Christensen.  He will spend the rest of his life in federal prison.  Christensen abducted, raped and killed a visiting scholar from China in June 2017.  He has never explained what he did with the remains of Yingying Zhang.
