Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry in Manitowoc is in its’ 110th year of providing aluminum and copper-based alloy castings for a wide variety of industries. Kory Brockman is the company’s Chief Financial Officer and told SeehaferNews.com that they have around 400 employees company-wide. “We’ve seen a significant amount of growth over the past three to five years.”
He went on to say that their business of making castings for diesel engine manufacturers (like John Deere, Caterpillar, Cummins, and other existing customers) has some new customers coming on board. “Our niche is a highly engineered casting and we can do things our competition struggles with,” he explained, “I think that’s a real statement on the company and the quality of people that work here.”
The company CFO explains their consumer product division is one of the foundry’s largest customers, including making pressure cookers and sterilizers. They produce those under the All American brand name. They also create growlers for micro-brewers, helping that industry thrive.
As for expansion, Brockman said they’re purchasing the land on which Northshore Warehouse is located. “That property makes sense to us because we actually own the warehouse on south 20th Street.” A lot of their expansion has been to the west and north, taking up three city blocks and could eventually see the need for more parking space.
Kory Brockman says the average tenure of their work force is 22-to-24 years of service, so they’ll have to replace retirees in the next 5 years. He adds, there’s a perpetual need for quality people at Wisconsin Aluminum.
