There was a massive barn fire near the Manitowoc/Sheboygan County line on Monday. A total of over 20 departments were called to Mineral Springs Road in the Town of Meeme at around 1:30 PM, to find the structure completely engulfed in flames. Not only was the fire a concern, but the safety of those battling the inferno was also on the mind of those leading the fire crews. Food, water, and Gatorade were brought out to the site to help keep the crews hydrated, as they were on site until around 7:00 PM. No one was injured in the incident, and it is not believed that any more damage was done to any surrounding buildings on the farm. The official cause is under investigation, but the owner of the farm says he believes it could have been the movement of equipment when hay was being moved.
