The mother of the two-year-old Two Rivers baby who died after suffering multiple injuries back in April was ordered to stand trial yesterday. Rena Santiago is one of three people facing charges in the death. Santiago admitted to police that she, David Heiden, and Bianca Bush all abused Gilbert Grant the Second, including striking him with their open hands, with a shoe, and with a belt, repeatedly over the last several months. Heiden admitted to police that he had shaken the child while yelling at him to go to sleep. Santiago is expected to enter a plea on August 15th, while Heiden will be in court for a plea on August 6th, and Bush will do the same on August 16th.
