The owners of the largest landfill in the state of Wisconsin are asking for D-N-R approval of an expansion. They want the state to let them dig up about one-point-three-million cubic yards of contaminated waste at the Orchard Ridge landfill in Menomonee Falls. It would be moved elsewhere on the 725-acre property as a part of an expansion adding 21 years to the life of that landfill. The Waukesha County Environmental Action League is warning about possible threats to the environment.
