There’s a collaborative effort locally to help 145 workers who lost their jobs, due to a plant closing at Tramontina Cookware in Manitowoc Monday. One of the local employers pitching-in is Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry. CFO Kory Brockman told SeehaferNews.com that “A local economic development group reached out to local employers yesterday sharing the news, and also creating that conduit for Manitowoc employers to send their open position information to Progress Lakeshore who will then work with these displaced workers, and try to get them back to working again.”
Brockman also said that it’s unfortunate with a sudden plant closing like that, however “The good news is that so many local employers need people.” He doesn’t expect those workers affected to unemployed for long.
WAF has already sent their open-position information to Progress Lakeshore.
