It was a relatively quiet 4th of July, as far as arrests are concerned in Manitowoc, but one man was taken into police custody after he allegedly strangled his fiancée. Officers were called to Holy Family Memorial at around 1:30 this morning on a report of a disorderly conduct. The victim told officers that she had come back to Manitowoc after spending the 4th with her fiancée in Sheboygan. She explained that the two had gotten into an argument when they got home, and the 36 year old man grabbed her by the throat, causing her to be unable to breathe. After she was able to escape his grasp, he pushed her out the door and wouldn’t let her back in. She then drove to Holy Family, and the police were called. The man was arrested on charges of Strangulation and Disorderly Conduct, both with Domestic Violence Orders.
