This year’s unusual weather patterns have had an impact on lawns and flowers in the Lakeshore area. Jerry Haupt of Lakeland Landscape Service appeared this morning on WOMT’s Welcome Home program, and said that the biggest effect of the odd weather has been the fact that everything is way behind. “Lawns didn’t green up quite as quickly,” he explained. “Lilacs and hydrangeas, for example, were all a few weeks behind.”
Haupt also told us about how hydrangeas love the heat. He said that they have several variations of the flower at Lakeland, and they are “…finally starting to come to life.”
The forecast for the rest of the week includes plenty of humidity and showers, with high temperatures in the 70s to the low 80s.
