A line of severe thunderstorms moved through Wisconsin late yesterday afternoon and last evening. Manitowoc County was among a host of counties included in a severe thunderstorm warning until 6:30 pm. No damage reported in the local area, but at one-time ‘warnings’ were in effect along a line from Stevens Point to Milwaukee and on to the Illinois state line. Carroll University in Waukesha called off Thursday evening classes because of widespread tree damage and power lines being down on the campus. Winds peaked at over 60 mph, snapping trees and knocking out power to thousands in southeast Wisconsin.
