The heavy rainfall the lakeshore area has experienced has had a noticeable effect on the farmers, as it has been near impossible to get their crops in the ground, but now the wet spring and summer is starting to affect Sheboygan businesses as well. The issue may only be minor right now but it has the potential to become major very soon. Water from the Sheboygan River is beginning to flow over the container walls, including one section in the downtown area. So far, for this time of year, water levels are near historic highs for Lake Michigan as well.
