MPD Announce Road Closure Due to an Accident – UPDATE

The Manitowoc Police Department announced on Facebook that they are investigating a two vehicle accident on Calumet Ave. east of W. Custer St. The announcement was made at around 8:00 AM, and they asked that motorists avoid the area . They estimated that the roadway would be shut down for at least 4 hours in order to complete the investigation. Traffic headed west is being detoured onto South Alverno Road, west onto Custer Street, and back onto Calumet, while eastbound traffic is doing the opposite. We reached out to the Manitowoc Police Department, and they told us that they are not releasing any additional information at this time, and should have more to tell us this afternoon.
