Illinois Prosecutors Won’t File Criminal Charges In April Ammonia Leak

Illinois prosecutors say some negligence was involved, but it doesn’t rise to the legal of criminal conduct — so, no charges will be filed in an April anhydrous ammonia leak.  A tractor was being used to tow big tanks of the dangerous farm chemical from Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin to an Illinois farm.  Open valves caused the chemical leak which made about 40 people sick.
