Officers with the Manitowoc Police Department were called to the scene of a fight in the 1000 block of South 10th Street last night, where they ended up taking one man into custody. The fight was reported to the MPD at around 9:45 PM, with the caller reporting 4 or 5 individuals beating up on another person. When officers arrived, a group of people were fleeing the scene and attempting to get into a vehicle on the west side of Washington Park. The officers were able to stop them from doing so, but one 20-year-old man began cursing at the officers and repeatedly attempted to leave the scene on foot. After repeated attempts to keep the man in place, officers began to place him in handcuffs, but he kept trying to pull away. They eventually got him into the back of a squad car, but the man continued to yell obscenities and started kicking the interior of the car. The man has been charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting an Officer.
