You don’t have to worry about parking at the Manitowoc County Fair. Progress is being made on the site-work for parking ahead of the event. Manitowoc County Expo Facility Manager, Jennell Shelton, says that initial work is being done for the new Meijer Store by a Manitowoc firm, and they were also the low-bidder for the parking lots at Expo.
“They will keep going north and will work on the main parking lot. That will be all complete, hydro-seeded and ready by the end of the month/beginning of July. Vinton Construction has been doing a wonderful job.”
Shelton added, the cold, rainy spring “really hasn’t deterred the work being done…We’ll have again, that main gate parking area and that’s where the main ticket booth will be and that’s where our guests can park. We also will have the Expo Drive parking, just like we did last year. The west parking lot, our merchant’s gate parking which is for exhibitors and vendors, and then we’ll also have our overflow parking which will be at the office complex. With all of those pieces, we will have more parking than we did last year or years prior.”
The Expo official said “they’re very pleased and the Fair Board has been working really hard to make sure everything gets done with the parking piece of the project.”
The Manitowoc County Fair will be held August 21st through the 25th. For more information on the fair click HERE.
