High water levels on Lake Michigan are making boating difficult on the lake and on the Milwaukee River. Six years after a record was set for low water levels, the lake is nearing record highs. Researchers for the Council of the Great Lakes Region say recent heavy rainfall and cooler temperatures are driving the rise. The cooler temperatures slow evaporation. The scientists say new records for high water levels could be set this summer.
