A downtown business owner and longtime civic supporter of the city of Manitowoc has died. Kathleen Herzog-Bundy passed away on Tuesday. Kathie Bundy was the founder of KB Productions and Kathie’s Stage Door Pub, was producer/director of A Christmas Carol, producer & hostess of the Breakfast Club for WCUB and produced the station’s Shopping show.
She received many community honors including: the Clipper City Chordsmen Harmony Award, Lakeshore Wind Ensemble’s Wesley Teply Award, a Key to the City by Mayor Nickels for outstanding citizenship, and a good citizen Scholarship was established in her name by Reverend Nancy Hooper Horvath & the Hooper Foundation. Kathie served as Manitowoc’s Greyhound Bus agent for 23-years and organized & continued to support the St. Patrick’s Day Parade & celebration for over 2-decades. She was also a County Board Supervisor for the 3rd district.
John Jagemann reminisced about Kathie this morning at the beginning of his radio show “After Further Review” on 1240 AM WOMT. “She would just do what she thought she should do,” he recalled. “If you were in the way she would just go around you or through you, whatever it took.” Jagemann first met Kathie when she took care of the Greyhound bus station. He told us that Kathie was very secretive about her age, leading to the quip, “She should have worked in Washington. There wouldn’t have been any leaks.”
Funeral Services for Kathie Herzog-Bundy will be held this Sunday evening at 7:00 in the Grand Lobby of the Capitol Civic Centre with Father David Beaudry officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 3:00 until 6:45pm at the Capitol.
