Wisconsin farmers are way behind schedule for planting crops. The latest U-S Agriculture Department crop report for Wisconsin shows farmers are at least two weeks behind where they normally are by this point in June. That’s enough of a delay to put this year’s corn and soybean crop in doubt. The report says 78-percent of corn and 60-percent of soybeans are planted. Recent sunshine and mostly-dry weather might help farmers catch up after an extremely wet spring.
