Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says Republicans on the Joint Finance Committee are working toward a 400-million dollar middle class tax cut this week. It would be part of the two-year Wisconsin budget lawmakers will send to Governor Tony Evers. That number isn’t final yet. Members of the committee plan to wrap up their work on the budget by Thursday, then send it to the full Legislature. Evers has already vetoed one tax cut proposal.
