Oshkosh Man Dies After Colliding with a Semi

A 24-year-old man has died as a result of an incident with a semi over the weekend. The Oshkosh resident was reportedly walking in the travel lanes on I-41 just south of State Highway 44 in Oshkosh at around 2:25 yesterday morning when he was struck by the semi. The 55-year-old driver of the truck is cooperating with the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, who say they believe he attempted to take evasive action. Drug nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the incident, and no citations have been issued as of last word. Names are not being released as of yet, and the investigation remains ongoing.
