
N-F-L Commissioner Roger Goodell was among the speakers at a public memorial service for legendary quarterback Bart Starr Sunday. The event was held at the Wright Center on the campus of Samford University. Starr died last month at the age of 85. Seven people important to the Hall of Fame Packers quarterback spoke at the two-hour ceremony, capped by his widow, Cherry, reading a letter she once wrote to him 24 years ago, expressing her appreciation for all the gifts he brought into their lives.
