US 151 Construction to Begin on Monday

Construction on US Highway 151 between Valders and Manitowoc will begin early next week. The project, which received $4.6 million in state funding, will take place in the 8.5 mile stretch from Jackson Street in Valders to I-43 in Manitowoc. Traffic will not be completely cut off during the reconstruction, with the exception of some night closures taking place sporadically. The highway will be repaved with asphalt, and the shoulders will be widened by two feet, to allow for enough room to add rumble strips to the sides. The project should be completed by the end of August.
