A Manitowoc man attempted to flee from police last night. Officers spotted a vehicle parked in the 1000 block of South 15th Street that was registered to a different man, but was known to be operated by a 35 year old man, that had three outstanding warrants issued for his arrest. Officers saw the man in question enter the vehicle and begin to drive south. The officers followed the man to the intersection of Washington and South 8th Street, where he made an illegal turn, so they activated their lights. The man sped off, reaching speeds of around 45 MPH. The officers followed the man as he turned onto Marshall Street, then onto South 7th Street, before entering the Briess Malting Parking lot. The vehicle was eventually spotted parked in a driveway in the 600 block of Marshall Street, and the suspect was found hiding in the backyard of a property in the 1000 block of Lake Street. The man was arrested on charges of Eluding an Officer, and three misdemeanor and one felony count of Bail Jumping.
