Appleton Deputy Jon Shearer retired yesterday, and did so alongside his K9 partner Ace. Shearer has been with the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department for 25 years, and in the K9 program since 2003. He has had two K9’s assigned to him before Ace. Two duo were recognized for their years of dedicated service at a special reception on Goodland Drive. Shearer was asked what’s next for the pair, and he told reporters that he plans on “keeping him busy.” He continued saying that Ace loves to work and that he is motivated to do it.
