Trial Starts For New Richmond Man Accused Of Killing His Son

The trial has started for a New Richmond man who is accused of killing his son during an April 2018 incident.  Kayle Fleischauer entered a not guilty plea last year to a charge of first-degree intentional homicide.  Fleischauer’s daughter called 9-1-1 after she found the body of 20-year-old Chase Fleischauer on the floor in her father’s home.  St. Croix County Sheriff’s deputies say the father was acting strangely when they arrived and they noted a strong smell of intoxicants.  The defense attorney has suggested the younger man killed himself, intentionally or accidentally.
