Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac will be holding a ceremony to officially open their new die-cast facility this morning. This latest $9 million expansion will allow the boating company to make complex blocks, driveshafts, and gearcases going into Mercury’s outboard motors. The addition will be filled with large tonnage die casting equipment containing cutting edge technologies that will drive higher quality and better throughput to keep up with the huge demand especially with the V8 and V6 product lines. The ceremony will begin at 11:00 AM at Plant 17, located on Pioneer Road in Fond du Lac. Mercury president Chris Drees will be on hand along with plant general managers and city leaders.
