Local Track Star Qualifies in 2-Events for NCAA Championships

More good news this week from Ames, Iowa on Manitowoc native and Lincoln High School graduate Eric Fogltanz.  The Iowa State University senior has qualified for the NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championships in the 400-meter hurdles & with the 4-by-400 meter relay team, after times of 50.39 seconds in the hurdles and 3:07.01 in the relay.  The NCAA championships will be held Wednesday through Saturday at the University of Texas in Austin.  Fogltanz is scheduled to compete in the 400 hurdle semifinals Wednesday night at 8:30 our time, followed by the semi’s of the 4-by-400 relay around 9:45.  ESPN2 is televising the men’s semifinals Wednesday, while the Men’s Finals are on ESPN on Friday.   The former Ships ‘blazer’ is the son of Don & Mary Fogltanz of Manitowoc.
