The family says a “Celebrating the Legacy of Bart Starr” service will be held June 9th in Birmingham, Alabama. The service is one week from Sunday and will be located in the Wright Center on the Samford University campus. Starr’s son says plans are currently being made to hold a similar service in Green Bay, but no details have been released yet. Starr became the starting quarterback for the Packers under new head coach Vince Lombardi 60 years ago, for the 1959 season. He led his team to five N-F-L titles, earning the nickname of “Title-town” for Green Bay.
