The Sheboygan Police Department has announced that they will be sponsoring two bicycle rodeos. The Sheboygan PD has said that the courses have been designed for elementary school age children, but are open to all children in or entering elementary school, and children going into 6th Grade. One bicycle rodeo will be held on Saturday, June 8th, at Evangelical Free Church parking lot located at 1710 N. 15th ST from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM, and the other will be held Saturday, June 15th at St Peter Claver Church parking lot located at 1439 S. 12th ST from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Click here to register for either of the two 2019 Bike Rodeos. There is no cost to participate and you can stay as long or as little as you’d like. Activities include free Bike Inspections, free Education Skills Course, free Helmets & Fitting, and Raffles.
The bicycle skills course teaches kids how to change directions, steer through tight spaces, weave and maneuver, watch for danger, properly apply the brakes, and many other skills in a safe and controlled environment. With each newly learned skill, each child will be more prepared to safely ride their bicycle around their homes, in the community, and wherever they go! Parents are encouraged to join in!
The activities, topics, and skills course (1 loop) combined take about 30 minutes.
All children MUST be accompanied at all times by a parent/guardian at least 18 years of age.
