
The Mishicot Girls Softball team made quick-work of visiting Saint Mary Catholic, blitzing the Zephyrs 20-3 in 3 innings in a D-4 Regional final. The one-seeded Indians will host Algoma next Tuesday In a Sectional semifinal. The Wolves blanked Roncalli ‘3’-nothing, despite a complete-game from Mackenzie Dvorachek & Riley Walske’s 2-2 performance at-the-plate. In the Division-3 Regional title game Valders fell in a heart-breaker at Southern Door, 3-2 in 8-innings. The Vikings see a great season come to a close at 18-6. The Eagles will have another home game Tuesday because Kewaunee upset top seeded Chilton, 5-4 in 9 innings.
Meanwhile, Two Rivers & Kiel came up short in their Boys Baseball Regional openers in WIAA Division-2. T-R was shut out at Wrightstown 4-0 while the Kiel Raiders were stopped by Plymouth 1-0. Denmark advances with a hard earned 7-6 win in 8-innings over Luxemburg-Casco.
In Division-3: Mishicot topped Roncalli 12-2 in 5, with the Indians moving on to Sturgeon Bay for a regional semi-final. Kewaunee nipped Southern Door 6-5, so the Storm travels to top seeded Valders next Tuesday. And, Howards Grove edged Oostburg, 4-3 in 8 innings and gets #1 Random Lake next week. In Division-4 Manitowoc Lutheran stopped Reedsville 4-1, on a complete game 3 hitter by Trey Zastrow, who allowed an unearned run with no walks & 7 strikeouts. Korey Garceau was 2-for-3 at bat with a walk and scored a run, while Trey went 1-3 with a pair of RBI. The Lancers travel to #1 seed Green Lake/Princeton for a Regional ‘semi’ on Tuesday. Michael Brandt also went the distance for the Panthers in taking the loss.
In what may be a preview of the Division-1 Sectional Final at Oshkosh North in a couple of weeks Manitowoc Lincoln rallied for 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th to edge visiting Slinger 5-4. The Ships recently got the 1 seed and the Owls were seeded 2nd. Lincoln is scheduled to travel to Appleton West, a top-10 program in the state, for its’ regular season finale this afternoon.Results
