The best and brightest students in the Manitowoc Public School District received over $520,000 in scholarships last night. The occasion was the annual Lincoln High School Scholarship ceremony in the LHS auditorium. Erin Thennes, Lincoln Guidance Counselor & program Co-Chair, tells SeehaferNews.com that “Our senior have worked so hard, and they are some really intelligent, bright students with a great future ahead of them.”
Approximately 100 members of the Class of 2019 received an award, which vary from a $500 award, all the way up to a $10,000 scholarship. Thennes said the awards are made possible by generous people in the community. “Not only our Board of Education, but I find many teachers who have worked in our school district give back,” she explained. “It’s been amazing to see the outpouring of all the businesses and organizations that are a part of Manitowoc. It’s a nice rich tradition.”
The scholarship presentation followed a National Honor Society induction in the auditorium.
