The Sheboygan Police Department is investigating a reported drowning in the Sheboygan River yesterday morning. At approximately 10:50am, the dispatch center received a call of an unknown person, who dove into the river and the person did not resurface. Sheboygan Police Officers, Coast Guard and Sheboygan County Dive Team responded to the area and began searching the land and water for any person that may have been in the water and also for possible witnesses who may have seen someone go into the water. The Dive Team and Coast Guard conducted a grid search of the river and were unable to locate any evidence to substantiate that someone had entered the river or was in distress. Sheboygan Police Officers checked the area for additional witnesses and information but did not find anything that would corroborate the initial call.
