At the March 26, 2019 Common Council meeting, the City of Plymouth approved two playground improvement projects. The Lone Oak Park project includes replacement of the 2-5 year old play area while the Meyer Park playground project replaces the 2-5 and 5-12 year old play areas. The Meyer Park project was funded over two years and also includes new public bathrooms, converting the gravel parking area to a paved area, and a small shelter. Both projects will be completed in 2019. The projects are a follow-up to other recent investments the City of Plymouth has made in its park system such as completing the redevelopment of Stayer Jr. Park in 2018.
