A total of 20 track & field athletes from Manitowoc Lincoln High School have qualified the WIAA Sectional meet at Hartford Union Thursday. The Ships Girls won 4 Regional titles at West Bend last night: senior Emily Dawidowich captured both the 100-and-200 meters Maddie Buchner took the High Jump & Allyson Verbauwhede wins the mile. Other Lincoln qualifiers by virtue of top 4 places are: Lauren Borchardt runner-up in the 100 hurdles, Breanna Reinhart-2nd in the 800, Verbauwhede runnerup in the 2-mile and the 4-x-100 relay was 3rd. On the Boys side, Matt Maser & Makhi Etheridge were 2nd & 3rd respectively in the High Jump, Gavin Stradal was 3rd in the 100 and both the 4×100 and 4×800 are moving on as well. The Ships were 4th in the girl’s team standings and wound up 7th in the boys event.
In Division-3, Manitowoc Lutheran has 10 individual qualifiers and 7 relay tandems for Thursday’s Sectional at Princeton. Based on their finishes at the Algoma Regional last evening, Lancer athletes Advancing include: Josh Zander in the 1600-and-3200, Kallie Fels in the 200, Brooklyn Luebke in the 400 meters, Leah Nushart in the 3200, Hayden Brey in the High Jump, the trip of Simeon Poehlmann, Nolan Winter & Sam Eickhoff in the Triple Jump, Emily Behnke in the Discus & MonRaye Ermis in the Shotput. Mishicot won the Girls Regional crown, followed by Reedsville, Lutheran was 4th & Roncalli 9th. In the Boys division: Reedsville won the championship, the Lancers were 3rd, Indians 6th and the Jets were 9th.Student
