Manitowoc Lincoln High School is hosting a plant sale this week through Wednesday, May 22nd from 9 am to 2 pm. You can find a wide variety of plants and vegetables in the lobby of JFK, using the 9th street entrance. In addition to the plants and herbs, Lincoln students will also be selling an assortment of unique handcrafted wood planters, signs, and decor. The sale is put on by “Ship Sales,” a non profit organization run by students with exceptional learning needs at Lincoln High School. In addition to creating wood crafts and holding the plant sale, the group of students also took on a new business venture and opened “Ships Sips” this year, a student-run coffee shop open to serve staff and students during the mornings. Make sure you stop by to grab some beautiful plants at a great price and see these dedicated students in action! If you are unable to attend the sale during daytime hours, you may contact Shaun Mulhaney for an order form at mulhaneys@mpsd.k12.wi.us. The proceeds from this student run business will be used for student worker rewards and expanding vocational skills training opportunities for students with special needs. Some of the funds will also be donated to the community gardens.
