An Oshkosh man was told that he will be spending the next 20 years behind bars after he was found guilty of dealing fatal amounts of Fentanyl. 40 year old Desmond T. Burns was issued the sentencing in a federal courtroom in Green Bay. The investigation into Burns showed that the drugs that he supplied were what killed four people in the summer of 2017. U.S. Attorney Matthew Krueger wanted to use this case to set an example for other drug dealers, saying “Anyone dealing a deadly poison like fentanyl can face decades in federal prison. We are committed to working with federal, state, and local partners to prosecute fentanyl trafficking aggressively.” After his two decades in federal prison, Burns will be on an additional 10 years of extended supervision, as per Judge William Griesbach.
