
His gas station at the intersection of North 11th and Huron Streets is the last of its’ kind in the City of Manitowoc. Quirin Swetlik Junior passed away over the weekend at the age of 82. Junior Swetlik has owned his full-service station since April 1st, 1963 & celebrated 50-years of business In 2013. SeehaferNews.com reached out to “Junior” for an interview in January of this year ahead of the coldest air temperature & wind chill readings in several decades. He recalled starting cars outside the Cedar Grove Apartments. He said they would do “10 to 15 at one time”.
As was stated in his obituary from Harrigan-Parkside Funeral Home, ”His passion was to help his customers 365 days of the year.” The Funeral Service for Quirin Junior Swetlik is this Friday at 11 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo Boulevard.
