Two Marquette graduates have donated two-and-a-half-million dollars to the Milwaukee school. Most of the money — one-and-a-half-million — is to benefit the Golden Eagles basketball program. The sizeable donation from Chuck and Karen Swoboda was announced Monday. Chuck Swoboda mentioned what he sees as the tremendous progress made by the team over the last five years. The Golden Eagles finished last season with a 24-10 record after being ranked in the top-10 for a portion of the season.
