
Disaster was averted in Appleton when officers arrested a 21 year old man, who claimed he was on his was to shoot a family member. The incident began in the area of Clark and Roosevelt Streets, as officers were dispatched there on a report of a man threatening another man with a gun. The armed man, later identified as Leland Schroeder, fled the scene in a car, and when officers attempted to pull him over, he sped off. The vehicle was eventually located on North Duke Street, with the help of several citizens. Schroeder allegedly had ditched the weapon, and ran into the neighborhood, where he was located and arrested. During his interview with officers Schroeder allegedly told them that he was on his way to shoot a family member. No word on what charges Schroeder will be facing.
