The City of Manitowoc says construction work is scheduled to get underway today on New York Avenue from North 18th to North 21st Streets. Greg Minikel of the Department of Engineering says the prime contractor will be Highway Landscapers, Inc. from Little Chute. The project will include replacement of the curb, gutter and driveway approaches on the south side of the street. There will also be asphalt pavement patching on that stretch of New York Avenue. Minikel advises that during construction, access will be maintained at all times for Citizen Park, Aquatic Center and the Mini-Golf entrance. But, there will be one-way traffic only in the westbound direction between 18th and 21st, so access to C-P will have to be from N. 18th only. The work is expected to be completed on or before May 31st, weather permitting.
