The Green Bay Police Department with the assistance of Community Action for Healthy Living performed tobacco compliance checks at 36 establishments that are licensed to sell tobacco in Green Bay. A mixture of grocery stores, pharmacies, convenience stores, and retail stores were checked. Lt Steve Mahoney says out of the 36 places that were checked, 3 failed the compliance check. The clerks received citations for selling tobacco to minors. Community Action for Healthy Living will be contacting all places checked and work with those that failed to make sure policies and procedures are in place to make sure compliance is followed in the future.
